Creating a delimited custom mapping

This is the second step in the process of creating a custom mapping.

In addition to the information you filled in on the previous page, provide information for the input file definition and the field mappings.

Values you provide for the input file definition describe the structure of the input file so it can be properly interpreted and mapped to the correct output values. For example, if the input file uses commas as its field delimiter, select comma as the field delimiter.

The values you provide for the field mapping determine how fields in the input file map to output fields. For example, if the third field in the input file contains account numbers, set the Field Number for the Account Number to 3.

Note: Required fields are marked with asterisks (*).

  1. From the Field Delimiter list, select the object that will act as a field delimiter in your source file.

  2. From the Record Delimiter list, select the record delimiter.

  3. Enter the number of lines contained in the input file's header.

  4. Select the date format and separator in the input file uses.

  5. Select the money format the input file uses.

  6. Under Field Mappings, enter the Field Number and Default Value for each of the field names listed.

    Note:
Click Cancel to return to the Custom Mapping List without creating the custom mapping.

  7. Click Save to save your custom mapping and return to the Custom Mapping List.
